January 14, 2009 The team has been practicing consistently over wineter break, and the weather has been great for paddling on the weekends. Although it's been cold and the team was greeted by ice several times, they continue to practice for the upcoming competition. Below are some pictures from recent practices.

OK...so it's not quite Wisconsin. But it's still ice!

It's always sunny in Nevada
December 6, 2008 The paddling teams have been chosen. This year, there will be four female and four male paddlers (whose names are listed below). We had a surprising number of people try out for the teams, and we want to thank everyone for their hard work. Congratulations to all of the 2009 Nevada paddlers!
October 24, 2009 Paddling practice us uderway! The team has been practicing for over a month, and they meet twice a week. Paddling practice is held at the northwest end of the Sparks Marina on Friday nights at 5:30 pm and Saturday mornings at 9:00 am. Tryouts for the 2009 paddling team commenced today, and the paddlers are full of enthusiam this year. The tryout process will take a few weeks, and final names and positions should be announced by mid-November. This year, Jeff Weagel is coaching the paddling team. He was a paddler for Argentum in 2008, competing as a steersman in the Men's Sprint, Men's Endurance, and Co-ed Sprint. Other returning paddlers include Mark Cukrov, Andrew Durham, and Katie Bowden. We have enough recruits to fill the open spots, and we plan to have four male and four female paddlers this year. Below are some pictures of today's practice.
